Renowned for her radiant voice, confident and delicate coloratura, and deeply moving performances, Australian-born Carly Power has established herself in Europe as a Baroque soprano with an exciting operatic and concert career ahead.

Carly moved to Germany in 2017 to pursue her love of early music. She specialised in seventeenth and eighteenth century repertoire at the Hochschule für Künste Bremen with eminent teachers Bettina Pahn, Krisztina Laki and Manfred Cordes. Carly has participated in several noteworthy Master Classes, including with Emma Kirkby and Gerd Turk.

Carly’s career has seen her grace stages throughout Europe and Australia, with performances at the Schloss Esterházy in Austria for the Herbst Gold Festival Eisenstadt, the Potsdam Sanssouci Music Festival and her current hometown favourite, the Bremen Music Festival.

Operatic roles include touring as Apollo in Handel’s Terpsichore (in London, Potsdam and Salzburg), Bianca in Goetz’s Taming of the Shrew, and the First Lady in Mozart’s The Magic Flute. Carly has rich oratorio experience as a soloist and chorus singer, with favourite performances including Bach’s B-minor Mass, Handel’s Messiah, Mozart’s Requiem and Scarlatti’s San Casimiro. 

An accomplished ensemble musician, Carly has worked with the Dresden Kammerchor, the Bremer Barockorchester, the Bremer Barock Consort, Arp-Schnitger-Ensemble, and the Hofkapelle Schloss Seehaus ensemble. She is also a regular collaborator with the acclaimed chamber music ensemble, NeoBarock.

Carly’s own ensemble won the inaugural La Risonanza Barocca International chamber music contest in 2018, with festival performances and concerts in Bertinoro and Milan.

In Australia, Carly studied classical singing and opera at the prestigious Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts and worked in the esteemed position of principal soloist at St Mary’s Cathedral, Perth.
