“The Australian Carly Power sings Apollo with a melting and darkly luminous tone” … “amazing vocal brilliance” (Potsdamer Tagesspiegel, 2019)

Australian-born soprano Carly Power is a dynamic and expressive voice in the world of classical singing, with a particular affinity for early music and Baroque repertoire. Now based in Hamburg, Germany, Carly brings a refined yet adventurous spirit to her performances, fusing historical precision with contemporary creativity.

With over 15 years of professional experience across Australia and Europe, Carly is a sought-after interpreter of early music. She is a frequent collaborator with the acclaimed ensemble NeoBarock, with whom she released the album Pallas Nordica (2025). Her performances have graced major venues and festivals including the Hamburg Staatsoper, Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, Musikfest Bremen, and the Musikfestspiele Potsdam Sanssouci. Notable engagements include a tour in the title role of Apollo in Handel’s Terpsichore, performed in Potsdam, London, and Salzburg, as well as a recent appearance in Handel’s Delirio Amoroso at the Händel Festspiele Göttingen with NeoBarock.

As a soloist, Carly has appeared with the Bremer Barockorchester, Concerto Ispirato, Le Petit Formidable, and SymphonING Orchestra Hamburg, and she is an active member of the Mozart Gesellschaft Hamburg. She also sings with Vocalensemble Rastatt and is preparing for an upcoming tour in Slovakia with Le Nuove Musiche, featuring ensemble works by Monteverdi and lesser-known Slovak Baroque composers.

Carly’s voice is celebrated for its warmth, clarity, and stylistic versatility—equally at home in the music of Monteverdi as in jazz ballads. Her love for both genres informs her distinctive artistic projects. She is currently collaborating with the Frank Meiller Quartet on Baroque meets Jazz, a genre-crossing program premiering in November 2025, with a performance at the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg slated for April 2026. She is also featured on their forthcoming album Klezmer meets Jazz.

Offstage, Carly is dedicated to vocal pedagogy. She teaches singing to students of all ages, leads a seminar on performance and vocal health for Music Therapy students at the Medical School Hamburg, and directs two choirs in Hamburg. She has also served as a juror for vocal competitions across Germany.

Her upcoming releases include the solo album Visionen – Kantaten für skordierte Violine und Sopran with NeoBarock, and the cross-genre collaboration Klezmer meets Jazz with the Frank Meiller Quartet.
